Marseille players snubbed in team of the seasonGouiri says Greenwood is "world class"Algerian striker also praises Rabiot and De ZerbiFollow GOAL on WhatsApp! 🟢📱WHAT HAPPENED?
Gouiri has echoed the criticisms of his team-mate Adrien Rabiot and coach Roberto De Zerbi, who feel their efforts have been overlooked. In an interview with L'Equipe, the striker name checked De Zerbi, Greenwood, and Rabiot as being deserving of greater recognition for their efforts. Marseille overcame a poor run of form in March, to win four of their last five games in Ligue 1, ultimately finishing in second behind PSG.

Greenwood finished as the joint top scorer in the league alongside Ballon d'Or favourite Ousmane Dembélé, who was recognised as player of the year by the UNFP. The nominees were announced in April, after les Olympiens had lost five of their last seven games. Rabiot had earlier expressed his displeasure, saying it was "unbelievable" that he was not named in the team of the season. De Zerbi joked he needed "five or six more cigarettes" to cope with the idea his players were not considered worthy of recognition by their peers.
WHAT GOUIRI SAID
Gouiri said of De Zerbi: "He's a great coach. It's a scandal that he wasn't even nominated for the UNFP trophies. Everyone thinks it's normal that he came second with this squad, but it's his first season in Ligue 1, he didn't know the Championship, he has a new team. What he's doing is great."
On Greenwood, the Algerian striker commented: "It's the same, a scandal. He's the top scorer in Ligue 1 (tied with Ousmane Dembélé). He's a world-class striker. Playing alongside him is a pleasure. He didn't even need time to adapt, he can play with both feet."
Finally, on Rabiot, Gouiri said: "It's a triple scandal in fact. How can we not put him in? But the best answer was given on the pitch. Adrien Rabiot is one of the best midfielders in Ligue 1 and he doesn't need a trophy or a top team to prove it.
"The only explanation is that at the time of the votes, we were a little less good."

For the final at San Mames, Amorim made the decision to drop Garnacho to the bench with Mason Mount starting instead. The decision came as something of a shock as the Argentine had started all of United’s matches in the knockout stages of the Europa League, and the 20-year-old has now questioned the Portuguese coach's decision while also opening up about the Red Devils' 'sh*t' season.

WHAT GARNACHO SAID
According to TyC Sports, Garnacho said: "It's obviously tough for everyone after this season, which was really sh*t, both now and after losing the Community Shield. We didn't beat anyone. Up until the final, I played every round, I helped the team. Today, playing 20 minutes… I don't know.
The Argentine also remained cryptic when asked abouthis future with United, as he said: "The game has an influence, but the season itself and the situation at the club… I'm going to try to enjoy the summer and see what happens next."

All eyes are now on whether Postecoglou can resurrect Tottenham’s form with this influx of returning first-team stars, but if their form doesn’t pick up quickly, the 59-year-old will face more calls for his resignation.
According to some reports, Spurs are doing their due-diligence on possible managerial candidates for the future.
Brentford manager Thomas Frank would be a top target to replace Postecoglou (TEAMtalk), while the Italian media have reported that Inter Milan boss Simone Inzaghi has admirers within Tottenham as well.

Former Borussia Dortmund boss Edin Terzić, who guided the Bundesliga side to an unexpected Champions League final last term, is also thought to be among the potential contenders to succeed Postecoglou (TEAMtalk).
Another name who’s believed to be high on Spurs’ shortlist is Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola.
The Spaniard has marked himself out as a standout candidate amid his stellar job at the Vitality Stadium, leading the Cherries to seventh as they push for a Champions League place, which is all the more impressive considering their own injury problems right now.
Andoni Iraola stalls talks over new Bournemouth deal as Tottenham linger
As per The Boot Room and journalist Graeme Bailey, Spurs have been given some hope in regard to Iraola’s availability.
It is believed that Iraola has told Bournemouth he doesn’t wish to open new contract talks right now, coming as Tottenham express an interest in him as one of the possible names to succeed Postecoglou.
The north Londoners sniffing around Iraola is said to be privately worrying Bournemouth officials, even if they’re confident he’ll eventually stay, with Man City considering him to replace Pep Guardiola before the manager put pen to paper on a new deal.
Liverpool also apparently had Iraola on their list of candidates when they were hunting for Jürgen Klopp’s heir, so he is a tactician who’s very highly-rated by elite Premier League sides.
Former City defender Nedum Onuoha, speaking on the BBC’s Planet Premier League podcast, is among the pundits who’ve heralded Iraola’s “incredibly impressive” work on the south coast.
Hampshire 119 for 3 (Middleston 56*) trail Nottinghamshire 185 (Moores 49*, Abbas 6-49) by 66 runsHampshire’s Mohammad Abbas produced his relentless best to help bowl Nottinghamshire out for 185 on their return to the LV= Insurance County Championship Division One. Pakistan fast bowler Abbas claimed 6 for 49 as he ripped out the Notts top order before coming back to deal with the tail.Only Joe Clarke and Tom Moores, with 47 and 49 not out respectively, stood up to Hampshire’s imperious attack, with James Fuller also picking up a pair of wickets.Championship debutant Fletcha Middleton then kept the response in order with an impressive 56 not out as Hampshire ended the day on 119 for 3 – 66 runs shy of Notts’ first innings score.Abbas has been a menace for Championship batters since arriving at Hampshire in 2021 – with wicket tallies of 41 and 50 coming at an average well under 20. But that hasn’t persuaded Pakistan to bring him back into their Test side for the first time since August 2021, with his exile coming after a run of indifferent form. But Pakistan’s loss has been Hampshire’s gain. All his attributes – nibbling the ball around with metronomic precision – are suited to the Ageas Bowl, especially in early April. It was therefore a surprise that Notts captain Steven Mullaney chose to bat first, although less so when Haseeb Hameed and Ben Duckett eased to 42 without loss before Abbas found his groove.Abbas ground through to his sixth over before Duckett pushed to first slip. Hameed – who has been dropped second ball of the match – prodded behind in the following over. Ben Slater and Steven Mullaney were both victims of Abbas, either side of Kyle Abbott finding Lyndon James’ outside edge to leave Notts 93 for 5.Abbas’ rest allowed Moores and Clarke to rebuild watchfully, although the latter played typically stylishly through the off side. It took 34 overs before James Vince moved away from his strike trio of Abbas, Abbott and Keith Barker, when he brought Fuller into the attack.Fuller had Clarke caught behind in his fourth over before Liam Patterson-White was dropped first ball but caught soon after for a quickfire doubleAbbas returned to complete his five-for as Olly Stone was caught at the wicket and Luke Fletcher chipped to midwicket – it was Abbas’ third six-wicket haul for Hampshire. Moores closed in on a deserved half-century but in trying to come back for a second, last man Dane Paterson was caught short of his ground by a pinpoint throw from Vince on the boundary. In reply, Stone marked his Notts debut with a wicket with his ninth delivery, as Felix Organ was caught at second slip. Nick Gubbins followed in a similar fashion off Fletcher before Vince was bowled by a James snorter to see the hosts slump to 57 for 3.Middleton – son of former Hampshire player and current batting coach Tony – was making his County Championship debut, having impressed in a first-class match, against Sri Lanka Development XI, and the One-Day Cup campaign last season.Middleton had been battling at the other end but unleashed with a trio of boundaries in a Stone over to get over any potential nerves. On a pitch prepared by groundstaff brother Finn he looked in little bother has he was joined in an unbroken 62-run stand with Liam Dawson. O Sport começou melhor e Luciano Juba quase abriu o placar em cobrança de falta. Logo depois, aos 8 minutos, o camisa 46 cobrou escanteio na área e Rafael Thyere aproveitou desvio no primeiro pau, para abrir o placar.

Mikel Arteta must now put all of his eggs in the Champions League basket if he wishes to guide Arsenal to their first piece of major silverware since their FA Cup triumph in 2020, but he’s set to attempt European glory without a natural centre-forward in his ranks.
Arsenal manager MikelArtetalooksdejected
Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus are out for the rest of this season through injury, with Arsenal potentially regretting their decision not to acquire a top-class number nine when the January transfer window was open.
Ahead of a hopefully more successful Premier League title challenge next season, it is believed that the north Londoners are keen to rectify this in the summer.
Many big-name forwards have been linked with moves to N5, but a versatile option who could certainly be worth considering is Atalanta star Ademola Lookman.
Atalanta's Davide Zappacosta celebrates scoring their fifth goal with AdemolaLookman
The Serie A centre-forward, who plays as a second striker and out wide for the Nigeria national team, boasts 17 goals and seven assists from 29 appearances in all competitions under Gian Piero Gasperini – but he’s recently been at the centre of a fallout with his manager.
Gasperini blasted Lookman’s penalty-taking ability after the 27-year-old had a spot-kick saved by Simon Mignolet during the second leg of Atalanta’s surprise 5-2 aggregate defeat to Club Brugge in the Champions League play-offs, with the manager describing him as the “worst penalty taker” he’s ever seen.
Lookman publicly hit back at Gasperini for his jibe, and it’s safe to say tensions have escalated in Bergamo as a result.
Ademola Lookman set to leave Atalanta as Arsenal make contact
According to Sky Sports transfer reporter Sacha Tavolieri, this situation has opened the door for Arsenal and other interested sides to poach the African.
Indeed, Tavolieri writes that Lookman will no longer be an Atalanta player next season, and it is a “done deal” that he’ll depart them this summer. He adds that Arsenal have made contact over signing the in-form forward, so they’re a viable destination.

However, Liverpool have taken more “concrete steps” in the chase for his signature, which could cost around £54 million, according to other reports.
CaughtOffside also reported a few days ago that Arsenal and Liverpool are “most advanced” in the race for Lookman, so a potential move is gaining traction.
Glasgow Rangers made a huge decision last month when they decided to part ways with Belgian head coach Philippe Clement, after around 16 months in charge of the club.
The former Monaco and Club Brugge boss won a single trophy during his time at Ibrox, beating Aberdeen 1-0 in the League Cup final last season, and had already been knocked out of the SFA Cup and the League Cup this term.
Instead of moving to sign a long-term replacement for Clement, the board opted to appoint former central midfielder Barry Ferguson as the interim head coach until the end of the season.
The retired Scotland international beat Kilmarnock, after going 2-0 down, 4-2 in his first match in charge of the club, before losing 2-1 to Motherwell in his second Scottish Premiership outing – and his first at Ibrox – in the dugout.
Sky Sports reports that the 49ers Enterprises president Paraag Marathe is part of the investment group that have agreed a deal in principle to complete a takeover of Rangers, as they aim to secure 51% of the club this year.
Whilst one of their first actions in charge of Rangers may be to find the long-term replacement for Clement, they must also consider the work that needs to be done to the squad in the summer.
The positions that the 49ers must strengthen for Rangers
Firstly, the 49ers must consider handing the new manager the funds to secure a brand-new goalkeeper for the 2025/26 campaign, due to Jack Butland’s worrying form.
The former England international has made one error that led to a shot, two errors that directly led to goals, and given away one penalty in 23 appearances in the Premiership this season.
This suggests that the 31-year-old stopper has been a liability at times for the Gers, due to his tendency to make high-profile errors, and that could convince the next management group to pursue a more reliable number one, or at least more competition for Butland’s place.
A new winger could also be on the cards for the 49ers as Vaclav Cerny’s loan from Wolfsburg is due to expire at the end of the season, and he has been a driving force for the Gers this term.

As you can see in the table above, the Czechia international has been a consistent contributor at the top end of the pitch for the Light Blues and, if they cannot sign him permanently, the prospective new owners will have to source a replacement for him.
Cyriel Dessers, who was a reported target for Cagliari in January, has missed a staggering 48 ‘big chances’ in all competitions since the start of last season, scoring 31 goals, and the 49ers could look to replace him with a more reliable centre-forward.
Midfield is also another area of the pitch that could require investment and the 49ers may rue that the club already sold a fantastic central midfield option 18 months ago in the form of Glen Kamara.
Why Rangers sold Glen Kamara
Back in the summer of 2023, former Rangers head coach Michael Beale decided to move on from the Finland international after rarely using him in the 2022/23 campaign.
Former Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara.
The English boss replaced Giovanni van Bronckhorst in the dugout in November 2022, and Kamara only went on to start 12 of his 22 appearances in the Premiership that term.
That came after the Finnish sensation had started 28 league matches in the 2020/21 and 2021/22 campaigns for Steven Gerrard and van Bronckhorst respectively, which shows that Beale did not rate him as highly as the more successful managers that came before him.
Leeds United, shortly after 49ers Enterprises completed their takeover at Elland Road, swooped in to take advantage of that situation in the summer of 2023 to secure a deal reported to be worth £6m for the central midfielder.
This suggests that Paraag Marathe and the rest of the investment group were willing to sanction a £6m swoop for him, which is why they may have never sold him – under those circumstances – if they had already been in charge at Rangers, given that they seemingly rated him highly enough to sign him for Leeds.
Why Rangers may rue selling Glen Kamara
During his time at Ibrox, Kamara was described as a “mini Patrick Vieira” by former boss Neil McCann due to his dominant and technically brilliant displays in the middle of the park.
Where Are They Now
Given that Vieira won three Premier League titles with Arsenal, five Serie A titles with Inter and AC Milan, and the World Cup with France, that was incredibly high praise from McCann.
Kamara’s performances for Leeds in the English Championship during the 2023/24 campaign both back up the comparison to Vieira and why Rangers must rue cashing in on him under their former boss.
The 29-year-old metronome went from being rarely-used by Beale to starting 33 times for Daniel Farke in the Championship, as he proved himself to be adept at dictating play with his passes as well as being a rock out of possession.

As you can see in the table above, Kamara ranked incredibly highly among midfielders in the league in a host of key possession-based and defensive metrics.
As Rangers fans well know from his best years at Ibrox, the midfield star is a technically-gifted star who can control games with his passing ability, whilst he also has the physical attributes to dominate opposition players off the ball.
This is why the Finnish star, who is currently on loan at Al-Shabab from Rennes, still had plenty left to give at Ibrox before Beale made him a squad player and sold him in 2023.
Rangers do not have a metronomic midfielder as effective as Kamara in their current squad. He completed 91% of his passes in the 2020/21 title-winning season and no current midfielder with 20 or more starts in the Premiership has completed more than 87% of their passes.
He's worth more than Katic: Rangers hit the jackpot on "unbelievable" star
Rangers struck gold when they signed this superb performer on a free transfer.
1 ByDan Emery Mar 3, 2025
Overall, the Light Blues made a mistake when they cashed in on Kamara in 2023 and that is a mistake that the 49ers, due to their involvement in his move to Elland Road, may never have made.

Robinson undergoes knee surgeryDefender beginning rehab ahead of the 25-26 seasonFullback was not named to USMNT Gold Cup training camp rosterFollow GOAL on WhatsApp! 🟢📱WHAT HAPPENED?
English Premier League side Fulham have announced that U.S. men's national team defender Antonee Robinson underwent successful minor right knee surgery on Tuesday and will now be undergoing a period of rehabilitation over the summer in order to be ready for the start of the 2025-26 season.
Robinson, 27, was not named to Mauricio Pochettino's CONCACAF Gold Cup training camp roster, with the U.S. manager saying the federation spoke with Fulham about what the best decision to make was for the player this summer.
"We were considerate and talked with the medical staff and the staff from Fulham about the situation," Pochettino said after announcing his roster last week. "He was visiting different specialists, and it's still not clear, the situation. I'm no doctor to explain the problem that he has, but it's a player who hasn't been training much over the last few months…He's only been competing on the weekend, and then, next weekend, they'll see if he can play or not. I saw it as a big risk and, in this moment, we need to consider and pay attention to the advice of the medical staff and, of course, Fulham."

The 27-year-old defender last appeared for the U.S. in November 2024 in the Nations League semifinals against Jamaica. Under Pochettino, Robinson has made four appearances, recording one assist while logging four starts.
Robinson has made 136 appearances for the in the Premier League, recording 17 assists while earning 25 clean sheets along the way. In the 2024-25 season, he had a breakout year in the final third, recording 10 assists as a defender.

The 27-year-old will be recovering over the summer to prepare for the 2025-26 campaign, which begins in August. He'll also be keeping a keen eye on the performances of his USMNT teammates at the Gold Cup this summer, as the U.S. seek their first title in the tournament since 2021.
Chelsea have now been told that a “world-class” striker “really wants” to move to Stamford Bridge, and a deal would be “pretty easy” to get done.
Blues identify several top strikers as summer targets
The Blues are one of many top Premier League sides with intentions of signing a top striker in the summer transfer window, and they have now started to identify a number of key targets.
There have been suggestions a stunning £151m move could be made for two Real Madrid stars, namely Endrick and Rodrygo, and there is a determination to get a deal over the line, although the Spanish side have no intention of letting either player leave.
Jonathan David has also emerged as a target for Enzo Maresca’s side, who have expressed a strong interest in the Canadian, and there is a feeling the striker could be set for an imminent move to the Premier League.
A development has occurred in the west Londoners’ pursuit of Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram, as they have now leapfrogged Premier League rivals Liverpool in the race for the Frenchman’s signature.

Other targets include the very highly-rated Alexander Isak and Victor Osimhen, with the latter player still thought to be a target, despite a late deal falling through last summer.
Galatasaray's VictorOsimhencelebrates scoring a goal that was later disallowed
Although the move collapsed, Chelsea legend John Obi Mikel has now revealed Osimhen would still be keen on a move to Stamford Bridge, while also stating a deal could be relatively straightforward.
The Nigerian said: “We almost got the deal for Victor Osimhen done last summer. The club wanted him, he wanted to come as well. I know exactly where we stopped. If we have to pick it up again in the summer, it’s pretty easy to get it done. He really wants to come.”
"World-class" Osimhen in red-hot form for Galatasaray
After the move to Stamford Bridge fell through last summer, the Nigeria international opted to move to Galatasaray on loan, rather than remaining at Napoli, and he has been extremely impressive in front of goal throughout the campaign.
The 26-year-old is in red-hot form as of late, netting six goals in his last three Turkish Süper Lig games, while he has also impressed in the Europa League, picking up seven goal contributions in as many matches.
