O confronto do domingo, na decisão, será o último grande teste da equipe principal rubro-negra. Depois disso, a equipe encara o Madureira, na estreia da Taça Rio, no dia 21, e o clássico com o Fluminense, no dia 25. Nestas duas partidas, Paulo César Carpegiani deve fazer testes no elenco. Entre eles, a provável estreia de Júlio César, em seu retorno ao clube.
Diante do Fluminense, Diego Alves pode ser a novidade. Outra questão que Carpegiani ainda não resolveu é o substituto de Cuéllar na Copa Libertadores, suspenso por dois jogos. Por enquanto, o colombiano segue como titular até o clássico com o Tricolor.

Two fundamental issues concerning the 2011 IPL season – the tournament format and player retention – have finally been resolved by the league’s governing council, after months of uncertainty following the addition of two new franchises. The next three seasons of the IPL will have 74 matches each, the format designed to reward the most consistent teams during the league phase of the tournament. The 2011 season will begin five days after the World Cup, which ends on April 2.The governing council also decided to allow franchises to retain four players in their squads, the rest going into the auction scheduled for November. The franchises’ spending power for a squad of 30 players has been capped at $9 million.FormatIn each of the next three seasons, the IPL will comprise 70 league matches and four playoff games. The ten teams will be split into two groups of five, but will be ranked together in one composite league table. The change was necessary due to the inclusion of two new teams, Pune and Kochi, from the next season. An extension of the current home-and-away format would have stretched the season to 94 matches, which had prompted concerns of player burn-out. Franchise owners were also reluctant to reduce the minimum number of matches their team would play each season. These constraints have led to a convoluted format.League phase Every team will play the same number of league games (14, seven home and seven away) as in previous seasons with the following break-up: each team will play the other four in its group both home and away (eight matches), four of the teams in the other group once (four matches, either home or away) and the remaining team in the other group twice, both home and away. A random draw will decide the composition of the groups as well as who plays whom across the groups once and twice.Playoffs The teams that finish first and second in the league table will contest the first playoff, which is effectively a semi-final (Game A). The teams that finish third and fourth will play each other in a knockout that is effectively a quarter-final (Game B). The loser of Game A will play the winner of Game B in a match (Game C) that will decide the second finalist that will play the winner of Game A in the grand final. Each of the eight franchises that participated in 2010 can retain up to four players, only three of whom can be Indians. However, irrespective of the actual fee agreed upon by the franchise and the player, the franchise’s salary cap will be reduced by fixed amounts.If a franchise decides to retain four players, it will be charged $4.5 million per year and will have only $4.5 million to spend on other players, compared to the $9 million available to a franchise that retains no one. Liverpool are plotting a move for highly rated Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby, and he could be the perfect replacement for Mohamed Salah if he leaves.
What’s the story?
According to reports in Italy, Liverpool are plotting a move for Moussa Diaby as a potential replacement for Salah should the Egyptian fail to sign a new contract.
Diaby currently players in the Bundesliga for Leverkusen and has a great record for a 22-year old, and is rated at £49.5m.
The Reds are one of several Premier League clubs interested in the player with reports saying that West Ham United also want to sign the youngster.
He could be the perfect replacement for Salah
Liverpool have still failed to reach an agreement on a new contract with their star man Mohamed Salah. Negotiations broke down last month but have since restarted, however there are no guarantees that he will decide to stay which has led to Liverpool planning for life without him.
Diaby could be the ideal replacement and with the Frenchman so young it would be a worthy investment. He may not be at the levels of Salah just yet, but Klopp is known for developing good players into world class players so there’s no reason he couldn’t do the same here.
He has made 28 appearances in the league this season and been directly involved in 21 goals. He’s also shone in Europe with his performances in the Europa League earlier this campaign described as “special”.
It’s not a surprise he’s attracting a lot of interest as he is one of the best players in the Bundesliga, ranking in the top 3% for expected non-penalty goals.
When it comes to goals and assists combined for his club this season nobody beats him, he’s been key to the clubs battle for a Champions League place.
It’s hard to directly compare him with Salah given the age and experience difference, it’s more his potential that raises eyebrows. If you compare their stats when they were both 22, they’re remarkably similar.
Their goals per shots on target were the same at 0.46, with Diaby’s number of assists per 90 minutes being more than Salah’s at the time.
If he continues on the same trajectory then he could turn into one of the world’s best. Even if Salah decides to stay put an Anfield, this is a transfer race Liverpool need to be winning.

Former Celtic striker Frank McAvennie has bemoaned Josip Juranovic’s absence through injury ahead of the clash with Ross County.
The Lowdown: Juranovic out of clash
The Hoops face a crucial Scottish Premiership clash on Sunday afternoon, making the trip to fifth-place Ross County for what could be a sticky fixture.
Celtic have a small cushion over Rangers at the top of the table, but any slip-up could be key and they will have to make do without Juranovic this weekend.
The Croatian is missing for a number of weeks through injury, meaning Ralston is expected to slot in at right-back against Ross County.
Speaking to Football Insider, McAvennie said Juranovic’s absence is significant, but stuck by Ralston at the same time:
“Juranovic is a wonderful defender. We all know I have been critical of Tony Ralston but he loves playing in the role Ange is currently giving him.
“I have no problem, with him coming in. It’s a shame for Juranovic because it’s one hell of a blow for him. He’s a brilliant player and he’s done so well against good players. Kent couldn’t get near him in the last few times we have played Rangers.
“It’s a man down but Celtic have to get on with it. That’s the only thing they can do at this point. Ralston has a few goals and assists so he does do a lot going forward.
“Hopefully he can play as brilliant as he did at the start of the season.”
The Verdict: Big game for replacement
Ralston may not be loved by McAvennie but he has proven to be a good squad player this season, starting 20 matches in total and chipping in with four goals.
While Juranovic is arguably the first-choice right-back, the 23-year-old should have no issue filling in, doing his job and helping Celtic pick up three more valuable points.
Having strong squad depth is vital to any title charge and that is the case with the Hoops, with players of Ralston’s ilk able to come in and perform when required.
