George Garton has joined Warwickshire on a three-year deal after parting company with his boyhood club, Sussex.Garton, 26, will link up with the Warwickshire squad in November for pre-season testing, ahead of a stint at the Abu Dhabi T10s alongside his new club team-mate Moeen Ali.As a left-arm quick, Garton made his England debut on the T20I tour of the Caribbean in January 2022, but has yet to add to his solitary cap. His development, however, was hampered in June 2021, when – as part of England’s ODI squad to face Pakistan – he contracted long Covid, a condition that left him fatigued for more than a year.He has, however, been on the selectors’ radar for several years, and in 2017-18, aged 20, he was drafted into England’s Ashes squad as emergency cover. Previously, he had represented England at Under-19 level, claiming 72 wickets from 81 games overall including appearances at the 2016 World Cup.”I am delighted to be joining the Bears and I have the utmost respect for the club and its history,” Garton said. “The club has a tremendous record of winning trophies and I hope to contribute to winning more of them.”There is a strong playing squad and respected group of coaches at Edgbaston and I am particularly keen to work with Mark Robinson having known him for a long time.”I feel my best years as a player are ahead of me and I retain huge ambitions in the game. I can’t wait to get started ahead of the 2024 season.”Garton has joined Warwickshire with the option of playing first-class cricket, a format in which he has claimed 55 wickets in 26 appearances to date, including a dismissal with his first ball against Leeds/Bradford MCCU at Hove.However, it is his white-ball expertise that will be of greatest value to the club, given his extensive from stints in the IPL, Big Bash, SA20, and Abu Dhabi T10, alongside his domestic opportunities with Sussex and Southern Brave in the Hundred.Mark Robinson, Warwickshire’s first-team coach, was still in charge at Sussex when Garton first signed for the club in 2015.”When someone asks you would you be interested in signing a bowler who can bowl 85mph-plus, is one of the best fielders in the country and is a destructive batter, the answer wasn’t hard to give,” Robinson said.”I knew George as a young player working his way through the youth squads and he was always known as a player of huge potential.”As a left armer, he will give us variety in our attack, becoming another player who can change a game at any moment with either bat, ball or in the field.”George is very driven, hugely competitive and comes to us at the right time in a mental place determined to get back into the England team.”At the moment George wants to focus on white-ball cricket, but the door will always be open for him to return to the red ball format.”

وتابع: “لكن مشكلة حمزة عبد الكريم أن لديه عرض معايشة من بايرن ميونخ، لو ذهب للنادي الألماني وأعجبهم، سيعيرونه لناد صغير في الدوري أو في القسم الثاني لمدة سنة أو إثنين، واللاعب يريد أن يلعب ويشارك مع النادي الأهلي”.

وأضاف: “لو حمزة عبد الكريم وجد فرصة للمشاركة مع الأهلي سيبقى في الفريق، خاصة إن ريبيرو مُقتنع به، لذلك اللاعب باق”.

وأشار: “ريبيرو أبدى إعجابه بـ أحمد عابدين، وأشاد بأسلوب لعبه، ويريده أن يستمر، لكن في نفس الوقت اللاعب أساسي مع منتخب الشباب ويريد المشاركة مع الفريق، وريبيرو ممكن يمنحه دقائق مشاركة لكن ليس كما يطمح اللاعب، لذلك يجب أن يكون هناك صبر من اللاعب”.

وأردف: “محمد عبد الله ريبيرو مُقتنع به، لكن المدرب قال إن مكانه به لاعبين كثيرين، ولو جاءت له فرصة للخروج على سبيل الإعارة فلا مانع”.

واختتم شوبير: “أنا أؤكد لكم إن محمد عبد الله سيكون نجماً كبيراً في الكرة المصرية، يمتلك كل المواصفات والمؤهلات للاعبين الكبار، ولو خرج للإعارة لأي ناد سينجح ويتألق، لذلك هو مرشح للخروج على سبيل الإعارة”.

تحدث أحمد أبو مسلم، لاعب الأهلي السابق، عن استعدادات الفريق لخوض منافسات بطولة الدوري المصري الممتاز، السبت المقبل، أمام مودرن سبورت.

وقال أحمد أبو مسلم، في تصريحات لبرنامج “لعبة والتانية” على راديو “ميجا إف إم”: “الاهلي عنده أكبر اسكواد في مصر هذا العام وتعاقد مع 10 صفقات مميزة”.

وأضاف: “قد تكون المشكلة في الأهلي في الباك الشمال، كان يجب بقاء كريم الدبيس حتى يحفز محمد شكري ولا يضمن مكانه، وكريم فؤاد مميز لكن (مش عدلته) وكذلك مصطفى العش”.

واختتم: “مدرب الأهلي محظوظ بسبب وفرة اللاعبين المميزين، ولا أحد يكسب بـ(سكور) كل مباراة، لأن لا شيء مضمون في الكرة، لكن الأهلي قوي، والتوظيف والحالة البدنية ستحدد نتائج الفريق”.

Naveen-ul-Haq has been banned by the UAE’s ILT20 for 20 months for breaching his player agreement with Sharjah Warriors when he “refused to sign the retention notice” for the second season of the tournament, to be played in January-February next year.The decision effectively bars Naveen from playing in the ILT20 in 2024 and 2025, but he has signed with Durban’s Super Giants – owned by the group that owns IPL team Lucknow Super Giants, of which he is a part – in the South African SA20 league, which will be played almost concurrently with the ILT20.Warriors, who had signed Naveen on for the inaugural edition of the league in 2023, had “earlier this year sent him a retention notice on the same terms and conditions,” an ILT20 statement said. “Sharjah Warriors approached the ILT20 to intervene in this dispute. The ILT20 first initiated a mediation process through an independent third-party mediator, however the mediation failed.”The league’s disciplinary committee, comprising ILT20 chief executive David White, head of security and anti-corruption Col Azam, and Zayed Abbas, member of the Emirates Cricket Board, heard the points of view of both Warriors and Naveen and examined the evidence before them before communicating their verdict.”We do not take pride in making this announcement but all parties are expected to comply with their contractual commitments and recognize that non-compliance can cause damage to the other party,” White said. “Unfortunately, Naveen-ul-Haq failed to honour his contractual obligations with the Sharjah Warriors and as such the league had no option but to impose this 20-month ban on him.”The disciplinary proceedings against Naveen were conducted in a transparent manner and both parties involved were given opportunities to prepare and present their submissions.”Naveen was one of the better performers for Warriors in the 2023 season, finishing as their joint-highest wicket-taker (11 wickets) along with Junaid Siddique. GRATUIDADES

– Retirada antecipada em todos os pontos de venda

– Os torcedores que tiverem direito à gratuidade deverão portar a comprovação do benefício no ato da retirada do ingresso e o CPF

– As gratuidades são limitadas e sujeitas a disponibilidade

– Crianças até 6 anos acompanhadas dos responsáveis legais, estes que deverão ter o ingresso para o mesmo setor, Sul ou Norte, não precisarão mais retirar a gratuidade nos pontos de venda com antecedência.

– Todas as demais gratuidades por lei, crianças de 7 a 11 anos, PCDs e idosos acima de 65 anos deverão obrigatoriamente retirar o ingresso de gratuidade.

– Para menores entre 7 e 11 anos, a retirada só poderá ser feita pelos responsáveis legais mediante apresentação de documento comprobatório, CPF da criança e ingresso do responsável que acompanhará a criança para o mesmo setor.

– Para todas as demais gratuidades e meia-entrada, apenas a própria pessoa pode retirar ou comprar o ingresso também com a apresentação do documento comprobatório e CPF.

– As gratuidades são somente nos setores Sul e Norte. Em todos os outros setores, é aplicado apenas a meia-entrada de acordo com as leis vigentes.

– Os portões para a partida serão abertos às 17h

– Os portões serão fechados no início do segundo tempo das partidas. Após o fechamento, o acesso ao estádio poderá ser negado, conforme determinação do policiamento local. Tanto o clube quanto a FutebolCard não têm alçada sob esta decisão, não cabendo o ressarcimento de qualquer valor pago

West Indies fast bowler Shamar Joseph has joined Lucknow Super Giants as replacement for England quick Mark Wood. He will join Super Giants for INR 3 crore, an IPL statement on Saturday said.ESPNcricinfo understands that the ECB pulled Wood, a centrally contracted player, out of IPL 2024 to manage his workload, with the T20 World Cup scheduled in June and England hosting West Indies and Sri Lanka for Tests in the home summer. Recently, the ECB had prevented Jofra Archer from being a part of the IPL 2024 auction as it manages his comeback from injury leading up to the T20 World Cup.Super Giants had signed Wood in the auction before the 2022 season for INR 7.50 crore. He, however, missed that season because of an elbow injury. In IPL 2023, Wood played four matches and picked up 11 wickets at an average of 11.82.Joseph made his West Indies debut in the drawn series against Australia, dismissing Steven Smith with his first ball in Test cricket, in a game West Indies lost in Adelaide. He then became a worldwide phenomenon when he took a seven-wicket haul in the final innings despite an injured foot to give West Indies a dramatic eight-run win at the Gabba in the second Test. It was West Indies’ first Test win in Australia since 1997.Joseph had been signed by Dubai Capitals for the ongoing ILT20 season before West Indies’ tour of Australia, but was subsequently ruled out because of the toe injury he suffered in the Brisbane Test when a Mitchell Starc yorker struck him. But his performance in Australia has since landed him a deal with Peshawar Zalmi in the PSL, which starts on February 17.While Joseph has just played two T20 games in his professional career, and doesn’t have a wicket to show yet, West Indies white-ball coach Daren Sammy has indicated that Joseph could find a berth in the T20 World Cup squad, saying the fast bowler has “created a good headache” for the selectors.Apart from Joseph, the Super Giants’ fast-bowling line-up has Naveen-ul-Haq, Mohsin Khan, David Willey, Shivam Mavi, Yash Thakur and Yudhvir Singh. They also have allrounders Marcus Stoinis, Kyle Mayers and India’s Under-19 World Cupper Arshin Kulkarni, who can give them quite a few overs. Though just two seasons old in the IPL, Super Giants have been one of the best-performing teams, making the playoffs and finishing third both in 2022 and 2023.
