One-Test batter selected in eight-man group to head to MRF Pace Foundation in Chennai in August

Will Pucovski remains part of Australia’s long-term plans, and has been named in an eight-man group of emerging batters and spin bowlers to head to the MRF Pace Foundation in Chennai for a ten-day training camp in August.Pucovski, 24, has played just three first-class matches since making his Test debut in January 2021 against India in Sydney. He suffered a shoulder dislocation in that game and required surgery. He then suffered a concussion at Victoria training last October that kept him out of cricket for three months and then another incident in his first-class return in February triggered concussion symptoms forcing him into another break given his extensive history of head trauma.He made a successful return for Victoria at the end of the season, making 59 in the Sheffield Shield final against Western Australia. Selectors opted not to take him to Sri Lanka with the Australia A squad, with chairman George Bailey saying they were keen for him to have an extended run of uninterrupted cricket before calling him up for Australia A or national duty again.But the selectors have named him in a group of emerging prospects to head to Chennai for a training camp from August 7 to August 17. Pucovski joins fellow internationals Josh Philippe and Matthew Kuhnemann in the group, while Australia A players Henry Hunt, Tanveer Sangha and Todd Murphy have also been named. Former Australia fast bowler Glenn McGrath will also be there as a coach as part of his role as a consultant to the MRF Pace Foundation. وقال صلاح عن تتويج ليفربول في عام 2020 بدون جماهير ببطولة الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز: “كان الأمر معقدًا جدًا لأن النادي لم يفز بالبطولة منذ 30 عامًا، لا أعتقد أننا ندرك حجم ذلك، قدمنا موسمًا استثنائيًا في الدوري الإنجليزي (99 نقطة)، لكن الإغلاق حرمنا من الاحتفال الذي كانت المدينة تنتظره منذ ثلاثين عامًا”.

وتابع: “كان يجب أن نمنحهم فرصة أخرى للاستمتاع بتلك اللحظة، وهذه المرة مع إمكانية التواصل والاحتفال معًا، ثم كان الأمر تحديًا شخصيًا بالنسبة لي لأنه كان العام الأخير في عقدي مع ليفربول، وبالتالي قد يكون آخر موسم لي هنا، في ليفربول، ما يريده الجماهير أكثر من أي شيء آخر هو الفوز بلقب الدوري الإنجليزي”.

وأضاف: “هذا ما كنت أعلمه بالطبع، منذ توقيعي على العقد (في عام 2017)، لأن ذلك يرتبط بالصراع مع مانشستر يونايتد الذي يمتلك 20 لقبًا بينما ليفربول كان عالقًا عند 18 منذ عام 1990 (أصبح 20 الآن، بالتساوي مع الرقم القياسي)، كان الفوز بالدوري بمثابة تحدٍ كبير وضغط هائل لأننا كنا بحاجة لاستعادة عقلية الفوز التي كان النادي قد فقدها بعض الشيء”.

وأوضح صلاح أنه كان يعلم منذ انضمامه إلى ليفربول في 2017 مدى أهمية الفوز بالدوري بالنسبة لجماهير الفريق، قائلاً: “كنت أعلم قبل قدومي في 2017 مدى أهمية الأمر بالنسبة لليفربول، كنت أرى الشغف الكبير تجاه النادي”.

واستمر: “علاوة على ذلك، كان هناك العديد من الأشخاص الذين يمازحونني قائلين، جميع اللاعبين الجدد يقولون إنهم يريدون الفوز بالدوري الإنجليزي ولكن لا يحدث شيء، وكنت أرد عليهم حسنًا، سنرى إذا كنت سأتمكن من تحقيق ذلك أم لا، ويبدو أنني وفيت بوعدي، (ضاحكًا) أنا فخور بذلك لأن ليفربول وأنا متشابهين بدرجة كبيرة”.

وأكد: “ليفربول معروف بقدرته على العودة المدهشة، وقلب الموازين، نحن لا نستسلم أبدًا، وهذا يتناسب مع طريقة تفكيري في تكريس كل شيء لكرة القدم، أحب أيضًا أن أقول إنني لا أعمل بجد فقط، بل أعمل بذكاء أيضًا، من المهم أن تضع لك هدفًا لتحقيقه”.

وتابع محمد صلاح عن إلهامه بـ “معجزة إسطنبول” في دوري أبطال أوروبا 2005: “لقد تأثرت بها كثيرًا، وكان لدى ليفربول أسلوب لعب سريع جدًا، مع لاعبين مثل جبريل سيسيه الذي كان يركض بسرعة كبيرة، وستيفن جيرارد الذي كان قادرًا على اجتياز الملعب بالكامل وتسديد كرة صاروخية من 30 مترًا، وغيرها من اللحظات الرائعة، لقد حظيت بفرصة لقاء معه في عدة مناسبات، وكان من المميز أن أتمكن من الحديث مع أحد أعظم أساطير النادي”.

وحول ما إذا كان يعتبر نفسه أسطورة في النادي، أجاب مبتسمًا: “لا، أنا متأكد أنني أسطورة ليفربول، (ضاحكًا) بجدية، أنا الآن في قلب الحدث، أتدرب، أستعد، وألعب، وعندما أكون في المنزل، أركز كل انتباهي على عائلتي، لذلك، ليس لدي فعلاً الوقت للإحساس بذلك”.

وأضاف محمد صلاح عن تلك النظرة للحياة: “لا تأتي من كرة القدم، (ضاحًكا) بل من قراءة الكثير من الكتب، ومشاهدة الوثائقيات حول الفلسفة، والتطوير الشخصي، أشياء من هذا القبيل، التي تساعد على أن تكون حاضرًا تمامًا في اللحظة، وتستمتع بكل لحظة دون أن تكون في حالة من الروتين الميكانيكي”.

وأوضح صلاح كيف ساعده التطوير الشخصي في أن يصبح أكثر توازنًا في حياته قائلاً: “أن تكون شخصًا أفضل أولاً وقبل كل شيء، ومن هنا، يصبح اللاعب أفضل، لأن هذه الطريقة في تغذية عقلي وتعلمي تساعدني على التماشي بشكل أفضل مع كرة القدم، ومع حياتي بشكل عام”.

وتابع: “على صعيد المعرفة، نكتسب الثقة، نفهم المواقف بشكل أفضل، ونتعلم أن نكون أكثر توازنًا تجاه بعض الأشياء، مع البقاء أكثر تركيزًا على ما نقوم به، وكلما تعلمنا أكثر، زادت رغبتنا في التعلم، شعرت أنني أتغير، أنني أصبح أكثر فهمًا وهدوءًا، وبالتالي، تحسن أدائي على أرض الملعب أيضًا”.

وحول سر نجاحه، أكد محمد صلاح: “شيء كان بداخلي لكن ربما ليس بهذا الشكل، ألا أستسلم أبدًا، هذا متأصل في جينات ليفربول لدرجة أنني حقًا قطعت شوطًا طويلًا في هذه النظرة للحياة”.

وتحدث صلاح عن حياته في ليفربول قائلاً: “نعم، كان ذلك تغييرًا كبيرًا، أولًا، أنا أفضل درجات الحرارة الباردة جدًا، لا تسألني لماذا، نعم، أعلم، أنا من مصر، ليس لهذا أي منطق، ومع ذلك، أكره الحرارة”.

وفي ختام حديثه، تحدث عن اللحظات المؤلمة قائلًا: “كان هناك إحباط، لكنني أتقبله لأنه أمر طبيعي في كرة القدم وعندما تدرك هذا، فإنه يساعد على عدم البقاء طويلًا في الإحباط والعودة للقتال”.

وأضاف: “في عام 2018، أصبت في كتفي بعد تدخل سيرجيو راموس وفي 2022، تصدى تيبو كورتوا لتسع فرص أمامي، لذلك لا يمكن أن أكون دائمًا في يومي، لكن من المهم ألا تبقى في تلك الحالة وتسعى للأفضل”.

وعن النجاح في أولى مواسم آرني سلوت: “لم أتوقع أن نفوز بالألقاب بهذه السرعة، لا أحد توقع ذلك، لكن في فترة الإعداد طلب مني سلوت أن أكون قدوة للآخرين، فأجبته بألا يقلق”.

He finished with a first-class best of 197, including 26 fours and three sixes, as he upped the tempo with the lower order to help New Zealand A pile up 400.”On the first day, I was just trying to adjust to the conditions,” Carter said at the end of the second day. “India’s fast bowlers were getting swing, so it was difficult to free my arms.”So I batted with patience yesterday. But today, when the pitch was easier to bat on and also when I got a few bad balls, I freed myself to score. I like both defensive and offensive batting, but I bat according to the conditions.”Carter missed his double-century when he was stumped off Kuldeep Yadav but was satisfied that New Zealand A had posted a challenging total.”To be honest, it is a bit frustrating right now. When it comes to Tottenham Hotspur stars of the last 15 years or so, people will understandably name the likes of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min for the utterly sensational partnership under Mauricio Pochettino and beyond.

In fact, his final campaign for the club, in the 12/13 season, could be put forward as one of the best any player has ever had in English football, as he racked up a bonkers haul of 26 goals and ten assists while playing primarily in left-midfield, and some of the goals were utterly sublime to boot.

It would be fair to say that the Cardiff-born legend was a once-in-a-lifetime type of player, and while the Lilywhites might never have a winger quite as devastating as him, recent reports have linked the club with a youngster who could be something close to their next Bale.

The report has revealed that the Lilywhites have already held talks over the teenage sensation and would ideally like to sign him this month, but are also discussing an agreement to bring him to the club in the summer.

A potential price the Lilywhites would have to pay for the exciting talent isn’t mentioned in the story, but other reports from earlier this month claim that the Saints value him at a whopping £55m and that several other sides like Chelsea, Aston Villa, Liverpool and Leipzig are also all keen on the player.

It could be a complicated and costly transfer to get over the line for Spurs, but given Dibling’s immense ability and massive potential, it’s undoubtedly one worth fighting for, especially as there are some similarities between him and Bale.

So, there are a few reasons why Dibling could be Spurs’ next Bale and the first is the simple fact that, like the Welsh icon, he’d be joining the club from Southampton as an exciting teenage prospect.

The Lilywhites signed the future Champions League winner from the Saints when he was just 17 years old, and like the talent they are chasing today, they paid what was seen as slightly over the odds at the time, a fee of £5m rising to £10m.

Moreover, similar to the South Coast side’s current young star, the Cardiff-born dynamo was a highly sought-after prospect, with Arsenal and Manchester United both credited with an interest in him prior to his move to N17.

Now, in terms of their similarity on the pitch, it’s a little complicated.

At the time of his transfer, and for some years after, Bale was primarily used as an attacking full-back, but thanks to the genius of Harry Redknapp, he was eventually moved up to wide midfield and the wing, where he’d go on to terrorise opposition defenders with his direct style of play, brutal shot power and underrated range of passes.

The Saints’ current teenage sensation has thankfully been playing in his best role for much of his short senior career already, albeit on the opposite flank, and while it would be absurd to expect a similar level of output out of him as the man whose footsteps he could follow in, he’s already proving to be a handful for defenders.

For example, in just 24 appearances, totalling 1505 minutes, the “special” prospect, as dubbed by former professional turned pundit Danny Murphy, has scored four goals and provided two assists.

That means he is averaging a goal involvement every four games, or every 250.83 minutes, which is only made all the more impressive by his age and the fact he is doing so in a team that could go down as the worst in Premier League history.

Ultimately, Dibling looks like he will develop into a superstar a few years from now, and even though he’ll cost a lot of money, Spurs should do all they can to sign him, as he might just be their next Bale.

The long-awaited women’s IPL is set to become a reality next year with the BCCI planning a five-team tournament for March 2023, immediately after the Women’s T20 World Cup ends in South Africa on February 26.The BCCI’s proposed plan involves a total of 22 matches, with each squad comprising 18 players with a maximum of six from overseas. No more than five overseas players can feature in a playing XI, with four from Full Member countries and one from an Associate nation.As per the plan, which the BCCI sent on Thursday to state associations and which has been seen by ESPNcricinfo, each team will play the others twice during the league phase (20 matches), with the league topper heading straight to the final. The second finalist will be decided via an Eliminator between the second and third-ranked teams from the league phase. The BCCI is yet to finalise the schedule of the WIPL, but it will be wrapped up before the men’s IPL begins, which is likely to be at the end of March.Whether the March window has been pencilled in for the long term remains to be seen, but the BCCI said in a paper on the WIPL that it has identified a “clear 25 days Women’s IPL window in the FTP cycle”. The inaugural WIPL is likely to clash with the inaugural season of the Women’s Pakistan Super League.”It will be a challenge to play the WIPL in the home and away format, because with five to six teams it is not possible to have a match every day,” the BCCI said in its paper on the WIPL, which was sent to the states as part of the wider agenda for the board’s annual general meeting scheduled in Mumbai on October 18. “It is suggested that the tournament can be played in caravan style, where after finishing ten matches at one venue, the next ten matches to be played at the next venue. Therefore, ten matches each to be played across two venues in the 2023 WIPL season, ten each in the next two venues in the 2024 season, and for the 2025 season ten matches in the remaining one venue and the remaining ten in one of the venues from 2023 season.”Where will the teams be from?
Unlike the Women’s T20 challenge, the precursor to the WIPL, where the teams were assembled randomly, the BCCI will sell the five franchises. However, unlike the men’s IPL, where franchises bid for teams in a particular city, the BCCI has chalked out two plans for the WIPL. The first one comprises selling teams across six zones spanning the country. A set of cities in each zone has been shortlisted and comprises: Dharamsala/Jammu (North zone), Pune/Rajkot (West), Indore/Nagpur/Raipur (Central), Ranchi/Cuttack (East), Kochi/Visakhapatnam (South) and Guwahati (North-East).The second plan involves teams being sold but without a solid home base, with matches to be played at six shortlisted IPL venues: Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai.The BCCI will present the WIPL plan at the AGM next week but a final decision will be taken by the IPL Governing Council chairman – who that is will be decided at the upcoming AGM – along with the BCCI office bearers.Exponential growth in participation – the reason behind WIPL

In 2018, the BCCI launched the Women’s T20 Challenge, but it was restricted to just one match. Over the next three years, it expanded to a three-team competition. Voices across women’s cricket, both in India and globally, were critical of BCCI’s reluctance to launch a women’s IPL at the time.The board and several state associations were originally concerned by the shallow player pool in women’s cricket, but those reservations have gradually receded now.”With the rise in popularity of women’s cricket in the country mainly due to prominent performances by the Indian Senior Cricket team on world stage by qualifying for semi-finals in 2018 T20 World Cup, finals in 2020 T20 World Cup, securing silver medal in recently held 2022 Commonwealth games in Birmingham, we intend to conduct the Women’s IPL on similar lines with the Indian Premier League,” the BCCI said in its paper on WIPL.The growth on the domestic front was massive with the paper listing “an overall increase of 111% in participation of players along various categories” in the eight-year period between 2014-22. A further breakdown listed the number increasing by 129% in the senior women’s category and a 92% increase in the Under-19 category.The WIPL – and the proposed WPSL – will join the FairBreak Invitational, the Women’s Hundred, WCPL and WBBL as T20 leagues that bolster the popularity and growth of women’s cricket globally. The WIPL paper also noted that the BCCI had studied both the WBBL and the Women’s Hundred models before finalising its plan.

انضم رافينها إلى نادي برشلونة في يوليو 2022 بهدف أن يصبح الجناح الأيسر الأساسي للفريق، مسجلًا 10 أهداف ومقدمًا 12 تمريرة حاسمة، وفي موسم 2023/2024، حافظ على مستواه، مسجلًا 10 أهداف ومقدمًا 13 تمريرة حاسمة في جميع المسابقات.
